Great Sweet Spots in Athens

Everyone deserves a treat while on holiday, and in Athens there are plenty of options for visitors with a sweet tooth to try out. Here are the sweetest spots of Athens.

Krinos

Loukoumades, the Greek donuts, is a traditional dessert worth trying. One of the best places to taste them is Krinos: based in a historical building downtown and open since 1923, here you can order loukoumades with honey syrup and cinnamon or in its modern version, topped with hazelnut praline. The atmosphere is retro with black-and-white images on the walls; the light although deep-fried and crispy loukoumades are served in plastic trays accompanied by a glass of water.

Choose among a variety of chocolate bites created on site, a feast both for the eyes and the palate - chocolate with sage or cardamom anyone? Or opt for the delicious hot cocoa drink made from real chocolate. The chocolate boxes make for a great gift as well.
